Training
Burmese Church Planters
Burma's
minority groups face considerable
pressure both from Buddhist groups
and government opposition, many
struggle. Churches have been
burned to the ground and believers
continue to face obstacles at work
and school. We are praying for
a new generation of sacrificial
leaders who are ready to preach
with boldness. Our friends hold
classes in Yangon and at regional
centres where students attend for
2 months at a time. More...
Suggested amount: £20 a month
will help top-up local Burmese giving
to stimulate missionary efforts among
minority groups. £100 will
enable an evangelist to attend a
two-month training course.
Kashmir Seminars
Correspondence courses run by Kashmiri
evangelists frequently lead on
to follow-up seminars. Week-long
sessions deal with, among other
things, the uniqueness of Christ,
the authority of the Scriptures
and the basis of Salvation. Teaching
is by converted Kashmiri workers,
converted Muslims and experienced
Indian missionaries.
This is a concentrated week of teaching
and direct contact with Muslims.

Suggested amount: £150 covers
a week’s food and board, return
travel to a different Indian state,
teaching time and materials for one
Kashmiri interested in knowing more
about the gospel.
Indian Pastoral Development
AsiaLink partners are working in
20 villages around Krishna. Seminars
are conducted to train Indian nationals
for local church work. There are
many native evangelists who are serving
in the village communities, but they
need Bible teaching so that they
are equipped to preach the Word.

Suggested amount: £30 helps
keep the training school operating
each month. £50 provides 25
Bibles in indigenous languages. £60
provided a set of study books for
a pastor.
Borneo Pastoral Development
You can help train and equip Iban
pastors, evangelists and missionaries
in Borneo. The Iban live in longhouses
on rivers, often in remote regions
where few are willing to serve.
Animistic in belief, bound by fear
of spirits and subject to the control
of witchdoctors, most have never
heard of Christ.
Seminars for national evangelists
are covered by whatever costs are
raised locally. Sometimes help is
required to supplement this given
the huge distances covered in order
to bring 30 people at a time together.
